Flight Control Engineer (m/w/d) – UAV Dynamics, Control Systems & Integration

 

Neomium GmbH was founded in 2022 and is working on sustainable electric powertrain components and a novel efficient cargo drone concept, supported by the Deutsche Bundesstiftung für Umwelt and the Bavarian Ministry of Economy. We are revolutionizing aerial logistics with our paraglider-based UAV. Therefore, we are looking for a Flight Control Engineer to design and implement advanced flight dynamics models and control systems for our cargo drone. Your Role

  • Design and develop advanced flight control and dynamics models for a paraglider-based UAV
  • Implement and optimize control systems for stable and efficient UAV maneuvering
  • Model and analyze UAV flight dynamics for robust performance in complex aerodynamic environments
  • Develop real-time state estimation algorithms for UAV positioning and navigation
  • Implement multi-UAV cooperation strategies and command interfaces

Your Profile

  • 3+ years of experience in flight dynamics, UAV control systems, or aerospace engineering
  • Strong expertise in control theory, flight modeling, and aerodynamics
  • Proficiency in control system development using MATLAB, Simulink, C++, Rust, or Python
  • Experience with PX4 flight controller, ROS2, or other real-time flight software frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with embedded UAV electronics and software
  • Knowledge of real-time flight stability algorithms, adaptive control, and failure recovery mechanisms
  • Bonus: Familiarity with paraglider aerodynamics
