Neomium introduces the CÆSIUM® Cs-40 motor controller for Light Electric Vehicles (LEVs): Supplying 40 kilowatts (54 HP) of peak power output, it delivers the power needed for even the toughest applications. Operating at up to 200V , it overcomes the thermal challenges typical of high-power, low-voltage systems – while also significantly reducing overall system weight. It uses the renowned VESC® software for parametric open-source controls.
Neomium’s CÆSIUM® Cs-40 finally brings open-source motor control to industrial-grade, high-performance applications – bridging the gap between flexibility and reliability.
Features:
- High Voltage and Current Capacity: The Cs-40 supports input voltages up to 200V (specified 46S Li-Ion) and can handle phase currents up to 220A, with continuous operation over 150A, depending on cooling and ambient conditions. This makes it suitable for high-power applications.
- Comprehensive Motor Compatibility: Designed to work reliably with a wide range of motors, including low-inductance types, the Cs-40 supports sensorless, sensored, and hybrid operation modes, ensuring flexibility across various motor configurations.
- Advanced Communication Interfaces: Equipped with multiple communication options such as CAN, USB, UART, and additional I²C and SPI interfaces via COM ports, the Cs-40 facilitates seamless integration with various systems and peripherals.
- Robust Protection Mechanisms: The controller offers adjustable safeguards against low and high input voltage, excessive motor and input currents, high recuperation braking currents, over-RPM in both directions, and overheating of both MOSFETs and motors (with appropriate sensors), enhancing system reliability and safety.
- Real-Time Data Analysis and Monitoring: Through its communication ports, the Cs-40 provides real-time data analysis and readout capabilities. Users can monitor parameters such as speed, power, load factor, current flow, estimated range, and battery status via the VESC® tool app, enabling informed decision-making and system optimization.
- User-Configurable Input Sources and Throttle Curves: The Cs-40 supports various input sources, including CAN, USB, Serial, and ESP32-C3 channels (with firmware flashing), and offers adjustable throttle curves and acceleration settings for all input sources, allowing for tailored performance to meet specific application needs.
