Development Engineer
(Power Electronics)
Are you a motivated and independent professional with experience in power electronics engineering – ideally in the realm of motor controllers (inverters) and/or battery pack design? Then working at Neomium would be a great opportunity for you to contribute your skills meaningfully in a fast-paced and rewarding startup environment.
Neomium GmbH was founded in 2022 and is currently working on green electric powertrain components and a novel efficient cargo aircraft concept.
Your focus will be on optimizing motor controllers as well as designing new battery packs. The packs will be based on our patented weldless magnetic contacting technology and a working special-form prototype. This position enables you to be part of the complete product development lifecycle, from the initial design up to market release.
Your Tasks
- Optimizing motor controller designs from 150 V to 600V
- Designing a series of modular battery packs for different use cases
- Adaption of the current battery management system (PCB, wiring) in collaboration with our embedded engineer
- Rigorous optimization and testing of the different components
- Improving EMI compatibility and certification of the packs in cooperation with our partners
Key Qualifications & Skills
- Relevant M.Sc. degree and some years of work experience in the field of power electronics and/or battery pack/module development
- Proficiency in PCB design, ideally in KiCAD
- CAD experience, ideally in SolidWorks
- Proactive contribution of your own ideas
- Fluent proficiency in either English or German
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous contact with EMI testing and (CE-)certification
- Previous work with electric powertrain components
- Hands-on experience with battery pack design
This role offers a hybrid model with flexible work hours. On-site work will be carried out in our HQ with lab spaces located between Munich and Rosenheim, in a small, young and diverse dynamic team. The company is located close to the alps and only a five-minute walk away from Feldolling train station.
