Groundstation
BreezeDude
The BreezeDude Ground Station is an open-source FANET gateway for transmitting FANET data to the internet in real time.
This allows live tracking data from FANET-enabled variometers and weather data from FANET wind stations to be transmitted to the Open Glider Network (OGN), where many services and websites can further process and display the data.
- High-performance hardware: Based on a Heltec Wireless Stick V3 Lite, an ESP32-S3 dual-core processor combined with an SX1262 LoRa® transceiver
- Interface board with a simple 5 V power input (screw terminals), reverse polarity protection and connections for an I²C or analog wind sensor.
- Designed for the continuous operation with minimal energy consumption (0.3 W), the device operates on a stable 5 V DC power supply, e.g. a USB charging adapter. A connection adapter with screw terminals is included.
- Open source and compatible: The BDGroundStation firmware is available on GitHub. The hardware is also compatible with the popular GxAirCom project, giving you the freedom to choose from or switch between different software platforms.
- An enclosure with protection rating IP65 allows year-round outdoor operation.
