Application-specific PMSM motors
- Designed for the actual operating point
Osmium motors are not selected from a standard catalog. Torque, speed, voltage, peak and continuous power, and load profile are derived from the specific application and translated into a suitable motor design. - Drive system matched to the controller and battery
The winding, voltage constant, and current requirements are designed in conjunction with the CÆSIUM motor controller and battery system. This allows the motor, power electronics, and energy storage system to be combined without unnecessary power reserves or avoidable conversion losses. - Cooling concept for the required continuous power
The thermal design is based on the actual load profile and installation conditions. Air or liquid cooling, heat dissipation paths from the windings, and rotor cooling are designed to ensure that the required continuous power is available within defined temperature limits. - Reduced electrical and magnetic losses
Axially segmented permanent magnets reduce eddy-current losses in the rotor. The electromagnetic design is optimized for high efficiency across the relevant speed and load range—not solely for a theoretical peak value at a single operating point. - Compact inrunner design for system integration
The stationary outer housing facilitates cooling and mechanical integration. The shaft, bearings, flange, installation space, and speed range can be adapted to the specific application; where the operating point permits, a gearless direct drive is possible. - From requirements profile to validated motor
Development includes electromagnetic, mechanical, and thermal simulation, prototype construction, and subsequent test-bench validation. Only then are the performance data, continuous-load limits, and cooling requirements defined for the respective Osmium variant.
